Alliance Background

Taiwan's energy industry and power market are at a critical turning point, and "digitalization" is the most important element to the transition. On the one hand, due to the rapid increase in the renewable energy market, the intermittent problem between power generation and consumption need stakeholders from the industry to ensure the power system through various digital platforms (such as the "Electricity Trading Centre", which was officially listed and operated on July 1, 2021) seamless synchronize the supply and demand balance. On the other hand, under the mature application of 5G+AI, the "digital transformation" in all industry has become the main source of competitiveness for organizations in the public and private sectors.

In addition to the energy industry, agriculture, fisheries, manufacturing industry, commerce, and those business affects our daily life, as long as it is related to the energy consumption or supply side, there is an implementation for energy transition, carbon reduction and net zero carbon emissions, as well as rooms for improvement of "energy digital transformation".

All stakeholders in energy digital transformation including hardware manufacturing, application manufacturers, software development, application development, data collection, government think tanks, industry associations, consortium legal persons, non-governmental organizations, non-profit organizations and other groups directly or indirectly related to the development of the energy industry, all of which can be used. The service operation of the industry-academia technology alliance platform is linked to each other, and all members create cooperation opportunities and produce synergy.



Our mission

The purpose of the Taiwan Industry-Academia Technology Alliance for Energy Digital Transformation is to bridge between industry, government and research pioneers and elites to join in forming an alliances with each other, deepen the digital transformation of Taiwan's energy industry, and create a mutual benefits across all sectors.

We invite relevant experts and scholars from colleges and universities to integrate the Taiwan legal persons and public enterprises to form an alliance service team to jointly build an ecosystem of Taiwan's energy digital transformation. For the fields of "energy transformation" and "digital empowerment", concludes in four pillars of technology such as “energy innovation”, “digital creation”, “operational creativity”, and “local development”.

This alliance is based on the industrial-academia cooperation join forces from "Regional Transportation Research Centre" of Chung Hua University, the "Intelligent Transport Development Centre" of Chung Hsing University, the "Intelligent Electric Vehicle and Green Energy Technology Centre" (iCenter), and the “Cybersecurity and Personal Security Technology and Service Industry Alliance" to deepen the digital transformation of the energy industry. In particular, it aims to promote domestic and foreign technology exchange and development in the energy industry, electric vehicle industry, drone application, image recognition AI application, blockchain application, and improve Taiwan's overall competitiveness.

  • Energy transformation refers to promoting zero emissions, implementing carbon inventory inspection, promoting the development of renewable energy, establishing a new ecological economy for electric vehicles, laying a regional energy storage system, stimulating demand response, accelerating the opening of the power market, and activating power trading platforms, including auxiliary services/wholesale power/back capacity bilateral contracts and the recent market. (Day-ahead market), etc.
  • Digital Empowerment is a realization of an exponential platform economy, artificial intelligence big data application, voice and visual identification, information security privacy maintenance, blockchain application, agile organization and agile management, status detection, fault diagnosis, predictive maintenance, intelligent patrol, etc. It can actively promotes the above-mentioned emerging technologies and operating models, which emphasize dialogue with the public, and implement the energy digital transformation policy and its promotion through the power of citizen participation.
